New River Ranch, Inc. is a Christian residential program located in the heart of some of West Virginia's most scenic beauty. Situated in Fayette county, Near Hawk's nest Park and New River Gorge and National park, it is 30 minutes from Beckley and 40 minutes from Charleston. New River Ranch is located just off of West Virginia Highway 16 and in easy reach of: I-77 and I-64. Referrals are accepted for boys or girls ages 12-18.
New River Ranch is located on 266 acres of beautiful farmland and is a former "show" horse ranch. The ranch maintains horses for therapeutic reasons and offers a unique treatment option of Equine Assisted Therapy, with trained staff through EAGALA.
The Ranch is dually licensed by the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources as a Level I Group Residential Child Caring and Behavioral Health Facility. Services include psychological testing and evaluations, individual, group and specialized counseling, a full array of physical and other social activities under the direction of an on staff Activities Coordinator. Children live in beautiful cottage type dwellings and are under care of Certified "Teaching Parent" husband and wife teams.
As a non-profit agency, the Ranch has been providing care and counseling for children in crisis since 1988. We welcome your inquiries regarding placement of children or suggestions as to how you can support the Ranch.
